Luxury Camping at Baileys
Still Marvelous After All These Years!

“If the eco-friendly idea of falling asleep under the stars and roasting marshmallows around a campfire appeals to you, but the reality of pitching a tent and sleeping on bumpy ground does not, glamping, the new term being used for upscale — or glamorous — camping, could be your ideal green vacation.”

So says the New York Times regarding the wonderful world of up-scale Luxury Camping.  

And like so many things here at historic Baileys Palomar Resort Luxury Camping – originally called Campo Contento - has been a big part big part of our family’s destination resort for a century now.  

Back in the days when road travel in California was a grand adventure, guests would meet Bailey’s Palomar Hotel Stage in Oceanside for the exciting 30 mile ride up the Palomar’s old west grade.

Today, arriving at Bailey’s is much the same experience as it was back in 1913.  You are greeted by 5th generation Bailey family members, who then escort you to your Luxury Campsite.  Here you enjoy Palomar Mountain in style – and with all the amenities provided!

Each Luxury Campsite has a unique look, feel and flavor.  And each has all the requisite items you require, including  a custom tent or trailer, patio, lighting, fuel, tables, fire wood, private flush toilet, warm water shower and much more.

And, just like the old days, our Luxury campsite season opens on Memorial Day weekend each year.  Rental Rates for our Luxury Campsites are based on the particular campsite, occupancy, and the duration of your stay.  Like all our accommodations, stay two nights - and your 3rd night is free.
